EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 

Experience and knowledge of the Latin American market is essential is required for this role. The ideal candidate will have some experience in advertising or post production for Central and South America.

An overall highly organised individual who is willing to pick things up and run is essential. Importantly, the individual must be an experienced team player who will be working closely with the global network of producers spread across multiple regions (APAC/Africa & Europe) to deliver best in class outputs for our clients.

 

FEATURES OF THIS ROLE:

This is a new position which will be responsible for supporting on the delivery of adaptation and localisation assets across the Central and South American region for our clients, reporting centrally to the LATAM Producer for the region. This role will be based in a newly created hub, located in our partner’s offices in Costa Rica.

We require an Assistant Producer for a number of our existing Clients who will support the Producer in the delivery of advertisement to broadcasters across the region. Fluency (written and verbal) in English and Spanish is a must. You will be working remotely with our London HQ and Cape Town Production centre to deliver work to clients based in local markets.

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Experience in MS Office software: Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Experience or knowledge of the post-production
  • Any experience of the Adaptation process is beneficial: this could include and an understanding of the process from brief to delivery of the spot, i.e. localised edit, local voice over recordings, clearance procedures and delivery of spots to global broadcast specs.
  • TV administrative experience a plus – Usage rights; media schedule fulfilment, play-out processes etc.
  • Local or in market experience on all or a significant number of the following markets is preferred for this role: Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Ecuador

To realise its potential we seek an ambitious, experienced individual with a very high aptitude and understanding of how international multi-brand organisations work. The stakeholders are varied internationally & culturally, in their needs and in their personality types, which will require a high degree of emotional intelligence and a dogged pursuit to get things done.

You will work alongside an experienced Integrated Production Lead who has years of experience in delivering production services to such businesses and with whom you will need to form a strong partnership.

You will need to be able to work quickly and independently, often from within the client organisation to ensure that you have a deep understanding of the requirements and complexities at play and so that you can mine the opportunities that may otherwise not present themselves.

You will lead the account for EMEA, facing off to the Global Account Lead in the USA (New York) and will need to form a strong working relationship with them.

You will own and manage all key client relationships in EMEA (HQ Watford, Nr London)  and be involved heavily with the corporate teams based in the USA – predominantly Dallas, Texas and McLean, Virginia. This may require you to travel frequently into Europe and the USA.

You will oversee the commercial and financial elements of this account, running a separate P&L, opportunities pipeline and associated revenue & margin forecasting. You will be accountable for the profitability of this business and work closely with the Integrated Production Lead to ensure resourcing is effectively managed (balance of bandwidth, skills and utilisation).

You will report on the account to the Global Client Service Lead in the USA (Creative Drive) and in the UK to the CEO of Zebra.

Success in the role will be measured both in hard metrics such as growth and optimisation of revenue, profitability and client satisfaction, but also soft metrics such as internal staff satisfaction, contribution to the wider company as a senior team member in ZW and support of peers and staff working under you.

 

ACCOUNT LEADERSHIP – SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

We expect this account to grow quickly and so require leaderships skills in the following areas.

Strategising, managing, reviewing, reporting on and developing:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

  • Creating new artworks for a variety of communications material including digital and traditional press, poster, online, social media and all kinds of print for POS, packaging, OOH, brochures, branding and all other kinds of marketing projects/campaigns.
  • Localising master assets in all kinds of projects (as listed above) with different languages and content.
  • Supporting Zebra pitches and the development of mood boards, pitch presentations, sample creative artworks and assets for use in other media channels – i.e. for TV projects.
  • Collaborating with other artworkers and designers to ensure artwork is created to the highest standard within customer brand & technical guidelines.
  • Ensure that all artwork work is delivered according to brand and corporate identity guidelines.
  • Checking all assets prior to release and supporting with any issue resolution as we supply artworks to international publications, printers and media owners.
  • Creating print ready artwork to a required specification.
  • Preparing layouts, formatting text to stylesheets and preparing files for printers.
  • Working to short deadlines and fast turnaround times.
  • Constructing master templates, ready for onward localisation.
  • Supporting the development and definition (in writing) of processes and protocols.
  • Working with a variety of different disciplines including, design, typography, colour management (in four colours and special colours) and retouching.
  • Recording time and job status in Zebra’s online tracking system.

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • 2-3 years experience in a similar role working on international brands.

FEATURES OF THIS ROLE:

Fulfilling the role of a key client contact and relationship management, taking projects from the brief though the job lifecycle and entire agency process to completion. You will be working on print, still digital artworks, moving image for out of home and depending on your aptitude and skills, in time you may also be asked to support on digital, TV, Cinema & radio projects.

This is a new position with a major new client and you will be responsible for overseeing the creation of new artwork based assets, their adaptation, localisation and delivery of assets to media owners. You will need to apply your experience of this sector and strong knowledge of this process. You will need to think fast and be prepared to get on with the job at hand with minimal management. We seek smart people who we give lots of responsibility and support, but expect them to be confident in managing projects with local clients from around the world to completion.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

  • Experienced print, press and OOH project management for international markets.
  • Strong understanding of the requirements of international publications and media owners and the process to prepare / supply files to them accurately.
  • Numerate and comfortable building cost estimates against client briefs using established rate cards.
  • Able to manage projects through rounds of amends and scope changes to ensure project margins whilst also keeping clients happy.
  • Happy to work with the resource manager to align and book the right resources internally to complete projects to the highest standards, on time.
  • Experienced in managing media schedules and supplier requirements to the most detailed technical specs for print, press and digital out of home media sites.
  • Comfortable under pressure and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure work is accurate and always delivered on time.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Client Management:

  • Day-to-day responsibility for client communications and project management.
  • Delivery of the client scope on time, on budget and to the necessary quality standards.
  • Responsible for the proactive development and improvement of our clients’ business. processes to improve our efficiency, reputation and promote organic growth.
  • Responsible for the positive resolution of operational challenges and issues.
  • Identify opportunities for sell-on or additional work.

 

Asset fulfillment:

  • Fulfilment of marketing material for the following channels: online/new media, press, print, OOH. (Also possibly TV, Cinema and radio with support as required, but this is not the core requirement.)
  • Liaison with media owners, creatives, translation partners and media agencies to collate component assets, oversee local master build, manage approvals / amends and then fulfil the media schedules supplied.
  • Operation of Zebra online tracking, colour management, fulfilment and financial systems.
  • Ensuring that a full audit trail is recorded.
  • Ensuring assets are delivered to agreed timelines.

 

Internal liasion:

  • Clear communication of requirements to the studio teams, ensuring all relevant information and accurate timings are given with any supporting documents.
  • Check, QC and sign off every output from the studio, including content and colour (as required).
  • Immediate escalation any issues with quality control.

 

Financial:

  • Cost estimation and client approval / receipt of purchase orders.
  • Production of purchase orders for third party suppliers.
  • Supplier invoice approval.
  • Full job reconciliation and approval /instruction to finance teams to invoice to client.
  • Producing client status, system and asset usage reports as required.

 

Systems & processes:

  • Booking every job in via our online workflow tool.
  • Adhering to and implementing agency process via our various systems (HR, finance etc).
  • Using and proposing new online tools to ensure we deliver effectively and efficiently.
  • Proactively reviewing ongoing processes to refine and develop efficiencies/

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Strong verbal and written communication plus good negotiation skills.

REBOOTING OUR PRODUCTION COMPANY – STRIPEY HORSE:

A key part of our strategy going forward is to redevelop and expand our content production offer to include strategic and creative services as well as cross media channel production. We will target large brands with healthy marketing budgets and a need for highly creative content, in industry sectors that we are excited to engage in.
 
To take this forward we have restructured our production business unit that focuses on creative content production, operating under the name Stripey Horse. 
 
The restructure sees 4 new roles that together will form the management team. This group will lead on the development, growth and delivery of content production at all levels, from social media assets and ecommerce content to hero films, long form content and TVC. 
 
Stripey Horse will a focus on working with brands primarily, but also continue our association with broadcasters and record companies.

Zebra is taking investment and is committed to building a powerful production offer that targets major brands to produce content that will live in every media channel.  
 
We will grow our capabilities in motion, still image and CGI production and extend our post-production offer accordingly.  We are planning the development of a major studio complex, likely to be located in Dalston, that will provide high end studio facilities with integrated production, post-production and localisation teams, enabled by the latest technology.

 

HEAD OF PRODUCTION – DETAILS OF THE ROLE:

This is a key new position which Zebra has created as one of 4 leaders in Stripey Horse. You will report (individually and as a group) directly to the CEO and be responsible for the growth and development of the Production services strand of our business in Europe, with responsibilities for supporting other regional offices.

The key responsibility here is to set and deliver against the strategic objectives for Stripey Horse in the production of content. This includes working with the Stripey Horse management team to lead on:

  • Defining the various categories of content production that we provide
  • The development of the production operating models needed
  • Support and help shape the build out of new production facilities
  • The design and hire of in house production teams
  • The sourcing and set up of freelance and partner rosters to cover crew, equipment and related services needed to fulfil projects from end to end
  • The development of a Producer roster that will evolve from a primarily freelance to a mixed in-house/freelance roster as the business unit grows, covering the various types of content that we will produce
  • Development and implementation of commercial production models and the packaging of these for use in business development
  • The positioning of the production offer and the articulation of this to clients in the business development cycle – in support of the business development team. I.e. you will be expected to contribute to presentations and attend pitches with others
  • Working with the business development teams, all the way through production projects to completion – including post-production
  • Working hands on to produce projects – especially in the early days – showing hands on leadership of the business and helping to define ‘the way we do things’
  • Training and developing the production teams that we employ in house
  • Ensuring consistent quality of standards in delivery from associate / freelance teams

 

The new Head of Production will need to be a self-starter who is happy to develop and drive process forward of their own accord, whilst also being a strong team player.

They should be ready to bring their experience and connections to bear in coordination with the other 3 members of the Stripey Horse management team and the wider Zebra business development team to identify new business prospects, scope projects.

They should use their connections and management skills to find and recruit the best talent and support their development.

Whilst this is a London based role, Zebra is an international company and as such we will ask the Head of Production to travel both in the delivery of projects and the set up / support of Stripey Horse brand and services in other locations.

We will also be hiring a new MD of our Cape Town office with whom you will be expected to work closely to develop a service production offer there and to develop it as a production company in its own right. We wish for our Cape Town facility to become a major provider of production services, working locally, in coordination with London and to be marketed to EU and US based brands and agencies looking to shoot there in the season, between Oct and Mar.

ROLE CONTEXT AND OVERVIEW:

The Technical Director role carries a leadership responsibility in our business but is also a hands-on job.

The IT department is responsible for supporting and maintaining the company’s IT systems, managing the data of the company, and providing IT and broadcast technology solutions for the delivery of services to our clients. The IT department is responsible for resolving any IT-related faults quickly and efficiently, including a broad range of queries from how to set up an email account to system diagnostics, plus enhancing and developing the IT provision within the business.

The role is a broad-spectrum Technical Director assignment. Reporting to the company CEO and whilst managing existing IT staff, the expectation is that the Technical Director role will be hands-on implementing and maintaining all aspects of the broadcast tech and IT infrastructure including such things as: server, desktop, and network infrastructure; ICT policies and process; admin and post production hardware and software applications; data and information workflows and security.

You will also be called on to do research and put forward your opinions and recommendations for improvements to Zebra Worldwide IT and broadcast tech environment, ways of working and how to deliver best in class solutions for our clients.

You should be across industry trends, latest products and ways of working in the media / production and post-production space and more broadly in the IT space – especially as services and applications move (with data) into the cloud.

A good judge of character, you must develop relationships and build trust within the team they will lead and by showing a strong understanding of what it talks to motivate staff, the industry sector we are in and what makes Zebra special.

We expect our leaders to display high levels of emotional intelligence, good ethics, hard work and an ability to identify / deliver on opportunities for the wider benefit of the business.

This role includes a seat on the group’s ExCom (Executive Committee) alongside fellow Managing Directors / Heads of Business unit, Finance Director and the two business owners.

With this comes a high level of expectation that you are a self-starter who can think independently and quickly to find solutions and drive the business forward. Whilst a strong team player you must, at this level, be able to work alone to handle pressure situations and to ensure that those who are users of the technology in the business to drive revenue are ‘always on’.

There is an expectation at ExCom that all members contribute, collaborate and promote our key strategic imperatives of driving standards, sharing resources, knowledge and opportunities across the group. For the Technical Director this includes ensuring that all our operators using edit and VFX equipment, our QC teams and all respective hardware / software is operating well and is enabling them to work quickly to produce high quality assets. As our services grow to include more print and digital media work this remit will expand accordingly.

The role will have a direct report into the Board of Directors and line management by Luke as CEO.

The role is based in the UK but extends across all of our offices by proxy and through visits overseas. There is technical support in those offices (either in-house or associate) that you will manage to ensure alignment with our core architecture and standardised ways of working in all cases (a critical feature of the way we work).

 

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

We are looking for somebody with proven experience and high skill levels to affect on a global level and be able to:

  • Implement and maintain IT infrastructure & data management
  • Design and manage technology systems and roll-out
  • Lead an IT function to support a growing business of 70+ users across various disciplines
  • Work amongst large teams to facilitate technology solutions – mapping, planning etc.

We are seeking an Accounts Assistant, who be responsible for the AR & AP reporting and postings for the UK company, containing 6 departmental P&L’s. This role will report into the Financial Controller, and work alongside the Management Accountant, to ensure that all projects are billed and reported in an accurate and timely manner.

This role will partner heavily with our creative producer teams to ensure that the running of client projects is adhered to process. We are looking for a candidate that demonstrates an entrepreneurial spirit, a proactive attitude and a drive to learn and develop.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

Accounts Receivable / Project Sales Management:

  • Responsible for overseeing the finance reporting driven out of the project order processing (POP) system, specifically:
    – Identifying and proactively resolving issues impacting financial reporting or cashflowing. For example, ensuring: Client POs are provided, Accuracy of data, no duplications/misreporting

    – Acting as the point of contact with our software providers to implement and improve
    reporting, processes, or issues in the systems in order to drive efficiencies.

    – Full reconciliation of project sales and costs in the POP system to those in Sage, closing
    projects in Sage when fully reconciled.

  • Overseeing the billing function for the POP systems along with any ad-hoc sales invoicing,
    including:

    – Raising sales invoices in Sage, and credit notes where required
    – Attaining and overseeing client PO & approvals
  • Responsible for Credit Control

    – Sending of client statements & invoices
    – Chasing clients for debt

 

Accounts payable:

  • Supplier Setup in POP systems
  • 
Posting of supplier invoice into POP & Sage system, acting swiftly to resolve and discrepancies
  • Overseeing the accounts inbox and resolving supplier queries alongside/collaboratively with the 
Assistant Accountant in relation to project costs in the POP system
  • Making ad-hoc payments for office related cost
  • Ad-hoc preparation of expense claims as required

 

Responsibilities when acting as cover for the Management Accountant:

  • Payments – Payment to suppliers, remittance, Sage posting of bank payment
